I think Killam and InterRent are also good, though somewhat higher risk than CAR.

BEI is my least favorite and I'll have to disagree on management being on par with the others.

I never did like its portfoliio concentration in Alberta and distributions that seemed excessive given the conentration risk. Even though they seem to be trying to increase their porfolio diversification outside of Alberta (after the horse left the barn), they are still over 50% weight in that province. When the oil and gas industry fell apart, they had to cut their monthly distribution at the end of 2017 by 55% (from 0.1875 to 0.0834) while other REITs did not.

Unless you bought BEI during the depths of the COVID shock (March to October 2020), its performance in terms of unit price appreciation has not been good over the past decade.
