Keep the conversation going, but don't read too much into the article about Shaw shopping around for potential suitors. This could happen and it may not.
We can definitely rule out: Bell, Rogers, and Videotron acquiring Shaw's shares of Corus.
I still think that Telus would make the most sense because they are cash rich and their closest competitor is Bell and Rogers.
There is absolutely value in Corus and analysts that all say sell sell sell must be smoking too much cannabis. Cashflow doesn't lie (no one-time charges) and their content portfolio is stellar. Yes, Corus has challenges but in the hands of the right owner it can do extremely well especially a company with deep pockets and has other content connections. What might make the most sense is Corus sells off the tv to Telus and radio to the Jim Pattison Broadcast Group.
I think the announcement that Shaw would be open to sell is intriguing, but I wouldn't buy or sell based on the article. Lets see what happens! Long Corus and shorters won't be taking any of my shares not until it hits $10 min.
