observation

observationmost people dont know this....but when their is a Provincial or Federal Election.....Radio and Tv are required to sell at the highest rate on their rate card to everyone.....So everyone pays the same....So the regular advertisers who book into a election period will find the rates much much higher than normal....In the USA the laws are different in that everyone has to pay the same rate.....So if your a private company you best stay off of radio and Tv during Election times....as you will pay double what you normally would pay outside of a election period.....I know i just bought some Election ads on a Vancouver Radio station for a candidate....the rate was double the normal price i would negoitiate.....This is good for Corus....as in BC you have a Provincial Election at same time as Federal Election.....So everyone is sold out for last 30 days.....They much would have preferred a election in January or February as that is a very low demand period for Radio and Tv inventory....Some of these Radio stations normally never sell out...so its a windfall for Corus
