Decaying value

After latest goodwill write down

Book value has now been reduced to $4.32 from $7.60

They only have $660 million goodwill left now

So when they write that off book will be $1.43?

What Griz fails to tell you is that book value doesn't mean sh!t. It is what was paid for an asset years ago (much like a car or a house....the difference is, is this a car or is this a house).....and to figure that out one looks at revenue/cashflow growth. Subs are sticky they ain't goin anywhere and it is half of revs. The advertising will recover over time but even here they are still ...more

Two thumbs up on the last response, as this is a play on cash flow, not asset value.

Don't know what you imply, but the asset value is a function (among other factors) of the income the assets generates. In this case it would be the cash inflow also known as the revenue!

What BlueShoe fails to tell you is that there is an opportunity cost to everything you buy and hold. His suggestion that one should buy and wait for a better times is (they are not coming, the subscribers are cutting the cord, the market is shrinking and the revenue is at the best flat, if not decreasing) is a classic recipe to lost money.  Shares buybuck and divvy increase will only ...more

Your statement is blatantly FALSE 100% FAKE NEWS. Subs go up/down 2% and will transition on to STACKTV. This trades at a FCF yield of 30% so as long as they pay off debt (while paying 4c/q aka 6ish%), when their debt drops far enough they will either do small div increases, buybacks.....buying something else doesn't really make sense when you get better use of your money buying back your own ...more

BlueMan, it is blatantly clear that you have missed basic financial literacy courses so no point arguing with you. I just need to set the record straight "I have never shorted the Corus stock" ever! Not that one should be ashamed of shorting crappy stock, it is just that I have NOT SHORTED this p of sh!@t.

I have forgotten more about stock markets than you will ever know PaceMaker. Your lack of cognitive skills which is clearly evident means you probably top out at a walmart greeter or mcdonalds line cook. If someone hired you to do any decision making at all, they should be fired. Probably why I've made 100k in the last month just in the markets, if you count real estate that number goes up ...more

Good day BlueMan, you made me laughing, and this is not so easy thing to do, the last time I experienced similar sensation was when then very popular on this forum guy called Extremerisk predicted Corus double and even triple, and that was quite a while ago. As I mentioned, no point arguing with you about market, stocks and finance in general, and if you are really within the 1% population as U ...more
