Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P/TSE 60 Index, S&P/TSE Canadian MidCap Index, S&P/TSE Canadian SmallCap Index and the S&P Global 1200 Index after the close of trading on Monday, Jan. 31, 2000:
Celestica Inc. (TSE:CLS) will replace Imasco Ltd. (TSE:IMS) in the S&P/TSE 60 and the S&P Global 1200 Indices.
Molson Inc. Class A (TSE:MOL.A) will replace Celestica Inc. (TSE:CLS) in the S&P/TSE Canadian MidCap Index.
Sierra Wireless Inc. (TSE:SW) will replace Molson Inc. Class A (TSE:MOL.A) in the S&P/TSE Canadian SmallCap Index.
Celestica Inc. is a leading provider of electronic manufacturing services to original equipment manufacturers worldwide. Celestica provides a wide variety of products and services to its customers, including high volume manufacture of complex PCAs and the full system assembly of final products. Celestica Inc. will be added to the S&P/TSE 60 and the S&P Global 1200 Index in the information technology sector.
Molson Inc. is Canada's leading brewery. Founded in 1786 and through seven breweries across the country, Molson is Canada's oldest beer brand. The Molson companies also own and operate the Molson Centre and the Montreal Canadiens hockey club. Molson Inc. will be added to the S&P/TSE Canadian MidCap Index in the consumer staples sector.
Sierra Wireless Inc. delivers a wide range of products including PC cards for portable computers, ruggedized vehicle-mounted modems, OEM modules for embedded applications, telemetry modems as well as others. Sierra Wireless Inc. will be added to the S&P/TSE Canadian SmallCap Index in the information technology sector.
Effective before the open on Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2000, Imasco Ltd. (IMS) will be removed from the TSE 300 Composite, TSE 100 and Toronto 35 Indices. It has been announced that shareholders of Imasco Ltd. have voted in favour of the offer by British American Tobacco PLC.
