Numbers

Anyone here able to put a positive spin on these numbers ? I'm not being facetious. It looks like they are hemorrhaging from a lot of places.

I think the negativity is unwarranted. They meet or even slightly beat the estimates. Good costs control.  Cost cuts compensated for provisions for credit losses. And things didn't go very well in the West this last quarter as the oil and nat gas prices were down.  Remarkable increase in the Wealth Management side of business, 17% increase yoy. That's impressive in an ...more

Yeah well....IMO this bank's share price suffers a 10-15% discount for one simple reason: Danielle Smith! Too much crazy stuff coming out of that woman's mouth every couple of months. Next time I'm in the green with this bank, I'm gone for good. I'll keep investing in AB oil and gas...I doubt whe can screw that up!

You're attacking the wrong person. Go after Turdeau who is trying to phase out O&G. Go after Turdeau who has caused inflation but could singlehandedly bring it in line by just axing the carbon tax. I could go on but you have the right to your opinion...

"phase out oil and gas"??? Trudeau's been around for eight years and AB oil production is up over 30% in that time. AB is getting close to exporting 4 million barrels a day. In a month or two oil will start flowing through TMX (remember who built that?) and production is set to rise some more. I keep hearing this story that Trudeau is "killing" the oil industry and ...more

Delusional...

Turdeau's commie shills are hilarious.

It was hard to follow the logic. Apparently Trudeau is to be praised because O&G shipments have gone up 40% but the UCP is to be hated because O&G went up 40%. You can find other reasons to not like Smith but this ain't one of them. Imagine where we would be if Trudeau had seen a business case for LNG production. Hopefully he will be gone when the world figures out how duped they were ...more

What?...Who "hates the UCP because O&G went up 40%"....certainly not me and my oil stocks. But like so many UCP stories  the "Trudeau is killing the oil industry" flies in the face of the facts. It's not up to Trudeau "to see a business case for LNG"....it's for the PRIVATE SECTOR!!! Geez, he's already spent 30 BILLION dollars to build TMX and get ...more

I don’t want him or the Fed’s to spend any money on any industrial projects.  TMX was fine on its own until legalisation was changed causing project risk to increase dramatically necessitating government intervention and buy out.   As far as LNG exports and timelines to build a viable and successful export facility look no further than Germany to see the speed of which can be built on a ...more

I like it when somebody says: "I don't want the Feds to spend money on industrial projects..." but constantly clamour that "Canada should do this", "Canada should do that"..."we should be exporting this or that"....who is supposed to be this "WE" if not the Feds when industry won't do it? Blaming "regulation" for industry's ...more
