Substantial future value in tax loss carryforwards...

The Corporation’s aggregate non-capital loss carry forwards at June 30, 2020 were $491.7 million (December 31, 2019 – $550.4 million).

In addition, the Corporation’s capital loss carry forwards at June 30, 2020 were $260.0 million (December 31, 2019 – $260.0 million).

Agreed.  Tax losses of that size are certainly not something to be proud of but provide a lot of tax insulation against future gains.
