Preferred Shares Dividend upon Renewal

Anybody have a clue as to what the DFN.PR.A dividend payments will be upon renewal. They currently pay out at 5.6% as compared to FFN.PR,A and FTN.PR.A which pay 9.41% and FTN.PR.A at 9.07%. I would switch the DFN over except for the possibility of DFN having a higher dividend in December.

I currently purchase preferred shares for my retirement income and normally with a Buy and Forget philosophy, but would like to maximise income.

Some of these split preferred are showing great value.   Announcement date is still a ways away.  Be careful buying them before anniversary because if rate set to low they could fall ( check out SBC pref, it dropped sppx 40c

It will depend on where the prime rate is when the adjustment to DFN preferreds happens. Normally they would try and make it more attractive by getting the Yield closer to average  of similar products of the preferreds out there.
