RE:RE:RE:RE:Monday..Sept.28/20..Mssr.Lavoie hearing to overturn MB.. Man, great discussion on a great topic. I live in a semi-remote area of Manitoba and have a serious issue with MB's stance on home growing, to the point that it could just as well have been me making headlines with a go-fund-me campaign. I have literally decades of home growing experience and I can attest that I still have trouble staying on top of things to consistently get any decent quantity or quality from it. It requires a LOT of time and dedication and a keen green thumb. 4 plants making four pounds of quality weed "that will flood the market" ?!? Ha! Not even close. From a closet grow if you get 1.5 ounce of dried product from each plant you are a green-thumb genius. And unless you have a massive grow room in the basement and run your vegetative stage super long to get a super big plant, the average home grower can only expect to about an ounce per plant a couple of times per year, depending if manage two stages or three stages. W/o turning this into a seminar let me say that 4 masterfully grown plants, managed year year round is bare minimum PER PERSON.
Now with lower and lower prices and the convenience of getting it from the store I am no longer saving any money but have all this work. I too got into the beer and wine making phase. Quickly became too much of a hassle. I am really looking forward to not having to always be on top of my closet and just shut it down for good. It will be so liberating.
Fear not the home grower. It is a very, very small slice of the market. Poeple don't have the skills and can't be bothered. Its not even 1% of consumption I would wager.
