RE:RE:The hypocrites that will be flying in to self promoteThe conservatives that side with the protestors claim their issue is with the route of the pipeline, not with the pipeline itself. They recognize the need for oil.
Green extremist are incoherent. They are about love, community, singing songs and praising water and wild rice.
The youyube channel that has the live feed on L3 is focused on indigineous rights.
I watched this morning how they invaded an ENB pumping station. The workers called it off and left before they came in. Very smart move by ENB not to angage with these individuals. I wonder what would happen if the ladies marching would asault an union worker. I hope it won't get to this.
Keep in mind this is an under construction area, and these protestors cuffed themselves to whatever they could. It was very interesting as the youtube channel guys tried to interview some of these protestors. Most people did not have anything to say. They were asked if they have something to say about why there are there, and why is it important ... nada. Some answered ... foul language mostly. What a bunch of angry individuals.
Why would anyone trespass a property knowingly? Can you imagine if this would happen in Texas and it would be a private home instead?
TickerTwit wrote: What bugs me is that, logically, suppliers should not be the target of the protests -- they should target consumers. You can't change demand by attacking supply, but you sure can change supply by successfully attacking demand.
However, one thing the protestors do get right is that the suppliers are easier targets -- concentrated and non-moving.

I don't know why this whole protest thing bugs me so much. Thousands of temporary and hundreds of permanent jobs are being created. MN will receive $65mm per year in taxes from Line 3. Oil will be transported safely and in the most cost effective manner available.
It is not like the pipeline itself burns a lot of hydrocarbons. If ENB is serious about powering their pipelines with alternative energy (they would be perfect customers for Fantome's project), they could be net zero in a few years.
What kind of carbon footprint will the protestors create this weekend with the flights and limo rides to and from the airports plus the tanks of gas to fill the cars carrying the protestors?
If Jane Fonda rode a bicycle to the protest from California, I would be impressed. Otherwise, what message are these hypocrites sending?
