RE:RE:Some thoughtsThe dividend funds reap (typically) 25-50% of the income in management fees. You don't get the dividends in full unless you self-manage. Read the funds' holdings, duplicate them (or perhaps the top ten) in a self-directed account, and then you get the capital appreciation -AND- the dividends without a huge rake by the fund manager.

If you consider mutual fund, you may want to look into some dividend/income fund. But becareful with their performance number. For example Royal Bank's dividend/income function (RBF1014) claims their 10 years performance is about 9% annualized which is the gain in 10 years divided by 10. Coumpounded growth is actually 7% which is not bad.
