Yes they are definitley having issues, all the juniors are.  No juniors will get financing with Cobalt prices where they are.  The deficit really won't kick in until 2023/2024 at the absolute earliest, and remember this is a net marginal annual supply deficit not taking into the consideration the 10's of thousands of MT's stockpiled from prior years production.  Remember we are at multi year lows despite the world's largest cobalt mine halting exports....there will be an additional 30kt of production per year from next year once KAT starts exporting again. 

To put it in context in 2018 the entire EV industry used 16.5kt of Cobalt...

Granted the demand growth will continue to be extremely strong it must be reiterated there is no imminent supply shortfall and explosive upside in cobalt shouldn’t be expected.  Personally for me 50-60k/mt seems like a reasonable long term price level.
