Anyone questioning where …

EV's are going best prepare themselves for a stark change ...it's coming and moving in like a frieght train and I don't th8nk there is any question about that.

the demand on BMs and no matter the make up, almost all include some level of cobalt, some more than others. The demand vs supply only gets to be more of a concern as this exponential demand ramps up. As that happens the geopolitical ( China) and ethical situation in the DRC presents added risk to supply lines. Not something that one can put in stone and why it's a risk ..... and which of the end users are prepared to put their future " doubling of revenues " ( like GM) at risk with china controlling the pot of distribution?

the solid solution of supply that FT brings to the table has to be notable to some existing battery  manufacturers and or new ones out there and some coming. I am just not seeing away around this potential. Ft fortunes could literally change in the flip of a switch given the hundreds of billions being invested in autos and batteries alone....while the great disconnect continues in cobalts....stay long ride it out.

With all the announcements from every auto maker, I think these are 2 scenarios we could see . 1. They will outsource more battery/tech allowing them to focus on the vehicle builds themselves while there are more and more strictly battery producers able to make various batteries from whatever the end user needs are. 2. Car manufacturers will go about different battery technologies, from whatever ...more

I think your right on point one for sure and that is underway with some 220 reportedly built, underway and planned giga type battery plants the world over and several in NA. standardization will be a key component for interchangeable batteries as that may work for some ...serious new charging technology is being developed and could affect chemistries ....I think I read that ABB ( huge Swiss ...more

Tesla just announced a Cobalt free battery to keep costs down while performing just as well (if not be better). Fortune better get a move on it before everyone else figures that out!

EVs important but it's not every thing and Tesla with the largest battery plant plans in the world knows it....FT knows what it has to do ....it's those that sit and procrastinate that are our problem ....we hope that will change very soon.  https://financialpost.com/commodities/mining/tesla-buys-glencore-cobalt
