exceedingly expensive road to nowhere in a vast territory of only 40 thousand scattered souls it is expecting a lot from a deposit containing only 40 thousand tons of cobalt to provide justification for the expenditure.

Got your point, but I don't understand your engagement. :-)

Many have no concept of the mineral resource that lay in the Tlicho region and all regions of the NWT, proven many times over with winter roads out the yingyang. The geological survey of Canada has a good idea. The Tlicho hiway will lead to much exploration and much more than is already ongoing.....it's not about 500 or 40,000 people it's about Canada access to the untapped mining future ...more

Re your point about Geological Survey of Canada, have a look at this presentation around the 15 minute mark ... https://youtu.be/nGaGh_BsNFU  (Louise Corriveau - IOCG and Affiliated Critical Metal Deposits).

So, can you tell us what she is saying in layman's terms.   I get that there might be a much larger deposit beneath the already explored and proven areas.   JIM

Wow, the geologist was excited about the 250m level at Nico. No drilling was done below that

Fantastic post many thinks ...I agree with Jim lol  however being the layman I am ... I do read people well and if you don't like her smile and level of excitement in her face then you probably best focus her geological lingo ... FT is golden ... stay the course ... we don't know what this baby holds beyond the known 4.5 billion that we know of.

Agreed - If anyone knows Geo will be the one i trust has the depth

I was going to take a bit more time to dig up some examples, but first things first.  BEWARE GEOPHYSICS.  The second point being, "Review the first point". The Olympic Dam deposit was a geophysical target that extends from 350 m below surface to >1,000 m below surface.  The thing has legs.  On the otherhand, Polaris as a lead zinc deposit sits on a gravity anomaly ...more

Thanks .   So the drilling being done now is to add to the current reserves.   Got it.  Will Nico be the first new mine in 45 years or....... Jim

Great comments as expected thanks  On the why issue, the world is getting smaller and things are changing the NWT, and volatility elsewhere is a factor and after near collapse of gold which is changing quickly ... several mines scuttled years back but there could be a resurgence and it could come very quickly ... we all hope.  green tech has never been where it is today and FT could ...more
