A down Day

I love FTN and am up substantially in the 9 months of owning , but one negative l see , is their allocation % to US Banks. It's far to much , their divs are crop their reputation has never recovered since 2009 and their SP performance is substandard, all different from our Canadian Stalwarts. So how long does Quadravest want to give these underperforming laggards before they reduce their exposure at the expense of the NAV and shareholders. To all intent and purposes their buy and hold rather than acting proactively with the market is dismal and on the Heads of Quadravest and only Quadravest. If Fundamentals and market sentiment change you can always buy back in , it's not that big a deal unless you prefer a do nothing , lazy approach.

If you don't like what FTN is holding and want only CAN banks sell it and buy BK.. I own both and love the juicy monthly dividends.  GL.

No , l will stick with FTN ,Thank-you, l didn't say l don't want US banks , l said l wish their exposure was less than it is. As FTN is the biggest by far weight in my portfolio at about 60% l think l or for that matter any other investor is entitled to an opinion despite the fact that you seem to think otherwise.I have no intention of telling you or anyone else what to do so maybe you ...more

CountryBoy You went directly into attack mode, totally misunderstanding my comment. No where in my comment did I tell you what to do. I simply suggested an alternative if you were uncomfortable with your holding. No where in my post did I say, or even suggest that no one is allowed to voice their opinion.  I don't why so many people's initial response is to get offended with every ...more

The comment you made was if l didn't like US Banks then sell and buy BK , l am quite familiar with other alternatives including your suggestion. I responded to If you don't like American Banks , which is not what l ever said ,My statement was that l wish the weighting of US banks was somewhat lower and at this present time that Canadian banks are better performers and better Dividend ...more

Things must be tough out there in the country or maybe the 69 is the problem. The only reasonable interpretation on your orginal mistive was the one rixpix made. Your first statmernt lack all the qualifiers-- wish, somewhat, present time, better, maybe, and somewhat more- of the second version. LOL

Country boy I didn't invite anyone and I didn't ask for anyone's opinion either. but everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and that's something you just can't accept.  You made a negative comment about FTN's holdings, I suggested an alternative and you attacked.  That's all I have to say. I'm done with this topic. Long on FTN and BK. GL

I am done as well , but the one and only thing we have in common is we are both long on FTN and we both want the stock and shareholders to profit from owning it.

If you want more Canadian Banks in your overall portfolio instead of waiting for Quadravest to rebalance.  Sell 10% of your FTN and buy 10% BK  or what ever your prefer ed weighting is.

Country Boy don't want no help-advise-or info. He only wants to whine despite his obvious plea for help ps. no one invited me to comment-- don't need one.

And another Psuedo Freud surfaces to get attention. If l wanted no US exposure l would be invested in an all CDN banks Etf.But it appears that some of you guys think that a shareholder of FTN has no right to comment on the weighting of the portfolio and a suggestion that Quadravest adopt a little more proactive stance depending on current Market performance both North and South of the border hits a ...more
