Waiting on Quadravest update

So wont do any more guesses here, as we need to see the month end numbers to be sure what is going on. I  have gone to 50% cash again....trimmed back FTN , FFN and LFE... No sense in fighting the down market...

Nothing wrong with trimming as it seems one way or another that you are all in , in the Financials and the cost of l assume 3 trades is minimal. Of course the flipside is tomorrow things could be entirely different .Not to say l never sold anything but when l did it was immediately redeployed in something else.I guess l subscribe to the Barry Schwartz way of thinking , That our Clients don't ...more

I was convinced that getting in and out often don't pan out .I mentioned tomorrow that things could change but l will admit l did not expect tomorrow to come so soon. Only adding on these short term fluctuations , not selling and then dealing with regret over impatientence and neglecting how important Financials are to our sector.I also feel bad for Inglewood , but l can fully understand the ...more

I went 50% cash yesterday morning, and then decided to go all-cash by end of the trading day.. sold 65K shares of FFN @ an average of $5.54 and 55K shares of FTN @ avg of $8.07. That is my entire portfolio.. super concentrated, on margin with leverage.  Really pained me to do so, as both are trading at discounts. But when buying leveraged funds on margin... one has to be ready to jump off at ...more

I don't blame you, that is a large chunk of change to put at risk.  May I suggest FTN preferred as a safe haven for parking funds. A lot less volatile and in the worst case scenario, will pay out $10/u with a consistent mo payout of .07708. The return & volume aren't as robust as FTN but if playing close to $1M it's okay for 9% return. FFN preferred is slightly better

Thanks FTD.. I am seriously considering this.

I used to do the same thing as you and settled for not worrying about risk. 9-10% return per annum isn't  a bad return on a large portfolio.  Try parking half in preferred FTN or FFN to save your gains... it's disheartening to see a small % loss on a large portfolio.   But that's just my view, I still plan a small amount of commons without gambling.. and listen to MM :)& ...more

Month end figures are out for Quadravest FTN NAV March 28, 2024 - pre distribution = $18.59
Comment by Golferman on Apr 02, 2024 10:23pm
The NAV on March 28 OF $18.59 pre-distributions, gives us $18.39 after distributions. I believe Mouserman had 18.41 on the 28th. It looks as if he is only .03 off.  let's see what Mouserman provides tomorrow morning as an update.  Golferman
