RE: RE: RE: the new company name is...............

Not much choice left in Canada. If any loyalty business is to be salvaged, it will have to be done with a US firm, for the US market.

Here in Canada, Futura owes Aeroplan $432,000. How are they going to pay it if most of the money goes to operating costs? They need $300,000 just to get through the CCAA process. They will have to sell the tax losses (or a portion thereof). Keep the remainder for their own business.

All this shows the new car dealers category did not work for Futura. The car sales industry has it's own ingrained loyalty market characteristics, which makes it difficult even for Aeroplan and Air Miles to make any significant inroads. It was too much to expect that Futura would succeed, where others did not.

Saying that, it was amazing that 140 sign-ups did happen. I think its better than either Aeroplan or Air Miles could have done themselves. And those dealers who wish to continue with Aeroplan? Should Aeroplan get these for free after all the work Futura and money put into securing the business in the first place.
