Investing in company. & entry points

When you invest in a new growth company at its early highs, it can retrace some early gains.

its important to know where it started.

KNIGHT THERAPEUTICS began trading at $3.50

i didn't get in that low , however understanding the business model shows that growth is being built.

if you're looking at growth over the first 6 years, aGUD return of 85% to today's date, still pretty decent.

14% yoy avg return.

Twisting facts will not fool the market. Just a desparate attempt to hide a real bad MNGT. Markets go up and GUD goes down. GUD provides new news and and share price goes lower. Conclusion, may more selers than buyers. GUD go go MNGT must go. The market has given up with this MNGT team. Investors pay a premium for brilliant MNGT and a discount for a bad MNGT.  Look at Tesla If GUD got a new ...more

One thing I will agree with you here is that all the news concerning this company makes the share price go opposite way. NCIB, acquisition, decent earnings, product approval by HC, the markets are breaking records and here we are at a 4 month low close.  Maybe they do need some new blood in this management team, they have so much money, might be time to bring a qualified person on board in ...more

agreed in the last presentation MNGT too sounded depressed as if they were at a funeral. No positive feeling no enthusiasm no upbeat mood, no guidance for the future. Very sad, nearly one billion $$ at hand and six Years later they did not know what to do with the cash nor did they bring on board a leader with future ideas. This MNGT have expired past ideas.  The drug licenses they have low ...more

I predict that there will be a shareholder revolt next Year and Meir will not be arround to be demonized.  The focus will be on GUD MNGT

The timing of the cash deployment was bad in hindsight. No way of knowing a pandemic would hit and the absolute collapse of the Real which is one of the worst performing currencies. The situation in Brazil with the pandemic is slowly getting better but its still a disaster there. The thing that worries me as an investor is when they decide to deploy that remaining capital, if its gonna be another ...more

It is not likely for them to deploy further cash. It is the only strategy that keeps the share price afloat.  First, they invested in funds of funds. Did not work because manager were bad and not giving GUD new drugs to sell Later the prices for new drug licenses were too high and they had no strategies. Later Meir was very bad for GUD one and year lost in fighting. Who brought Meir in and ...more

You'll be waiting for the next AGM vote to see if sentiment changes. Management has no excuses for you. They have extended their reach. They will grow the product lines. That's it - no fireworks. The markets will do what the markets do.

Porksniffer, you are totally right In hindsight, who would have wanted to hold this stock over the last 6 years except for maybe oil and gas investors?  However the past is not an accurate indicator of the future. So what's your opinion going forward? The acquisition is completed and the company is completely different than it was 6 years ago or even 1 year ago. The strategy is proven ...more

What is relevant to investors is not how well a MNGT did with another company in the past but how well MNGT will do in the future with GUD. Very well managed companies provide future expected guidance. These type of MNGT are not afraid to be held accountable by the market because for they are confident of their MNGT Skills.  Others MNGT companies are not confident of their MNGT skills so they ...more

Well for those investors who have been here for 6 years and do not believe in the management team and do not believe in the story, what the hell are they still doing here? Selling is one click away and you can put your capital to better use. The last 6 years are a sunk cost. Get over it. Move on.

The same priciples applies to the spinners who despite hard irrifutable GUD faillures contine to spin

I think this is what you are seeing with the way the share price has tanked in the last 4 months. Investors are not liking the acquisition and with a large portion of revenues in Real currency and at 4.26 to the Canadian $, it was at around 3.20$ when they announced the acquisition, the growth in sales will have to be higher than the loss in currency.  I did not hear them mention any targets ...more

I may be wrong but I don't think you'll ever get guidance from Goodman. Not even in the best of times. Hence, very few people venture here until they see real growth.

Yes as we wait, 5$ on the way by next week. Crazy to see this bleed non stop for 4 months as markets ripping.

I see $9 by next week.   Crazy times indeed.
Comment by Benedict16th on Aug 26, 2020 5:56pm
Indeed I Agree, there are many CEO who do not trust their skills to generate growth for investor so they never provide guidance

Yeah, right. Like Berkshire Hathaway and constellation software right?? those companies are losers right??? Wrongggg

Wang, thank you for pointing out two good companies for objective analysis and comparison. The old gizzard of Omaha too has lost his touch with expired strategies. Berkshire share price has been go nowhere and the 140 billion dollar in cash is also earning -2%. Buffet too has been waiting for bargain to fall from the sky to no avail. Benedict, it's really not a point for debate. It's just a reality. They don't give guidance - period. You can hold your breath for as long as you want - It's not going to change. You need to take it up with GUD.
Comment by Benedict16th on Aug 26, 2020 8:57pm
Your comment is out context. I never said I want/need a guidance I am saying they dit not and do not have a winning strategy thus no guidance to give.
Comment by drippingsnot on Aug 26, 2020 12:55pm
Not sure why you are so bitter with those who speak their minds here Benedict. You refer to them as Apostles and Spinners. I see them as patient investors. Well said Ebbflow.  Tried and True and now on a bigger scale. The way I see it, the attacks are over.  The coup failed to take the company in a different and unproven direction.  Shareholders spoke with their vote and there are ...more
