If you're talking about the new 10% withholding tax that comes into place on January 1st, HOT.UN is not impacted.  There are 115 securities on the list and only 2 are Canadian listed.   ...more

I've seen the full list of securities affected by this new tax rule. 99% are listed only on US exchanges. HOT.UN is not on the list. Most are US MLPs.

RE:Withholding TAX on TFSA

I was in HOT.UN for many years.  There was no withholding tax in RRSP.  There was in TFSA and of course, regular investing account.  My experience agrees with what you say, however ...more
