Does the pref share prospectus say they are redeemed at $25 with this type of transaction? I just see the rights on liquidation, copied below.  I don't think this deal would be considered a liquidation, dissolution or wind-up of Husky.  Is there another provision I am missing? "or any other distribution of assets of Husky among its shareholders for the purpose of winding up its affairs" Cenovus is buying Husky.  Effectively Husky will no longer exist.  Effectively Husky is winding up it's affairs and shareholders are being paid in Cenovus Shares instead of Cash.   So, Yes, in my opinion the prospectus does say they are to be redeemed ...more

HA!!   Told ya so before and telling you again, HSE preferreds do not have any change of control provisions.   So, YOU ARE NOT GOING TO GET $25!!!!   Best to sell your preferreds and buy HSE or CVE.....much better upside - sure, if HSE/CVE combo doubles in price, the preferreds will also go up in value but by the time they get back to par value (IF they ever do), HSE ...more

That's right, so not allowed.   Anyways, just splitting words.  Change of control.... Merger..... Partnership....Buyout..... Effectively Husky will no longer exist.   Effectively Husky winding up it's affairs.    Doesn't matter what you call it.... "change of control", "merger", or what ever....  $25 please....
