I suppose they might have additional scenarios in the PEA with 6 + 6 being the Base Case.

Or perhaps they are assuming they can tack on another 6 from Kakula West and make it 18 combined (6+6+6 = LUCIFER). I like the sound of that.

Thoughts?

This is a very good question that only the engineers involved can answer with certainty. Having said this, these following points might shed some light to your question/concern:
  1. Geometry of the orebody; includes dip, thickness, strike length
  2. Mining cycle times (i.e. prep, drill, blast, muck, ground support placement, and fill should fill be required in methodology)
  3. Geotechnical restrictions
  4. Ventilation restrictions
  5. Material handling restrictions (including logistical challenges)
  6. Other resource restrictions (i.e. power, process water, and money).
