There may be a flight to quality but the sale of treasuries by the US government has never been greater (because of the deficit financing).This is driving down the price and driving the rates up. When rates go up (as investors ask for a higher rate to lend money to the US) it effects everything in the economy and drives up the value of the dollar.
Someone has to bring this reckless spending under control before it is too late.
