Is today the day?Gold and silver are making pretty good moves as I write. We should know between 8:30 & 9:;30 a.m. if today is the day that we break through 2k & $25. Pretty sure it is ground hog day, to help in remembering the date. Now, a word regarding inflation. Either The FED is out of touch with reality, or, it is merely bending to the establishment. Here is my example. The U.S postal service at least in my neck of the woods is not delivering mail on a regular basis. I have some regular verbal exchanges with my postal carrier. Also, there are regular features on local T.V. highlighting the problem. Some of the things I've been told include the fact that the part timers quit fiirst. Better opportunities at the Wallmart distribution center that include benefits. Since then, the supervisors simply shiifted the burden on to the full time staff which are on salary, while also requiring that they work 6 & 7 days a week. A carrier needs 30 yrs. to retire. Mine said that a good friend of hers with 28yrs could not take any more and walked away. They had a job fair , and nobody showed up. Apparently the union can't do anything until contract time in four months. What knowledge can we gain from this situation? Wage inflation has not begun to show its ugly head. In the past, just the word inflation drove precious metal prices up. I think eventually, that these increases will occur. Then, the establisment folks decide to buy in. That will be the big mover.
