Appears that the first major commodities trade (this one involved China and France) was settled in other than dollars. That of course does not include Russia. They are not allowed. Interesting factoid:An ex U.S financial bigwig was actually responsible for coining (no pun intended) the BRICS acronym. He is supposedly a strong proponent of other currencies being used for trade. Says using dollars only just ain't right. The most important revelation, even though it is being talked about, involves the important part that gold is expected to play as the situation evolves.
