One of the deadliest snipers in the world has arrived in Ukraine and pledged to take on the Russians as a volunteer fighter.
“The gunman — who told CBC News his nickname is “Wali” — joins hundreds of other Canadians who have gone to fight to defend the beleaguered country.
‘I want to help them. It’s as simple as that,’ the former soldier told CBC. ‘I have to help because there are people here being bombarded just because they want to be European and not Russian.’
The one time member of the famed Van Doos — the Royal 22e Regiment of Canada — served in both Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as joining Kurdish fighters in their battle to rid their lands of ISIS.”

“In June 2017, one of [Wali’s] comrades reportedly shot dead an Islamic State terrorist from an incredible distance of 3,450m - more than two miles away [one of the longest kills ever recorded.’
