It's interesting that the nickel price is so low vis a vis the demand for it! With the push to electric vehicles and it being indispensable in the batteries they use it boggles the mind that it isn't multi times higher. With regards to the LME (London Metals Exchange), I suspect it is rigged in the same way as the precious metals, ie, paper trades. This cannot continue because if you go to ...more

Gb52, Good insight. Unfortunately, predictions of strong physical demand for a mineral does not seem to correlate with the price. For example, there has been talk for at least a couple of years that industrial demand for silver would result in significant price pressure. The same could be said for materials required for battery maufacture. Graphite is a good example. The U.S. Energy Dept. just a ...more

Of course what is included in the price setting, the LME, what is excluded from price setting? Everyone else, the market. What do you think control means?
