They fully expect to advance Adumbi above 5 million ounces in 2022 through drilling underground below the current pit.
On the latter point , the Adumbi pit generated 7000 ounces of gold resources per vertical Meter.
Drilling todate has shown that grades below the pit approach 5 gms per ton which is more than twice that of the open pit.
This is consistent with Kibali whose underground and pit grades are near indentical to that of Adumbi.
100 meters or so of underground have already been drilled with excellent grades.
Deepening underground in 2022 to just 200 m below the pit should easily add another 1.5 m ounces , with upsides to 3. Million ounces .
Currently, Kibali remains open below 1500 m which should also be the case with Adumbi..
