Wow, I never ever though copper would go under $4. Was I ever wrong. Keep an eye on RIO2. They have a gold project in Chile. They submitted an EIA. The Chile SEA is recommending that the EIA be reject. We should find out in 2 weeks or so what the Comision de Evaluacion Regional will do. This will set the tone on how mining friendly Chile is gonig to be. Until I find out what they plan do ...more

You and me both Mike. Different world all of a sudden. As for mining in Chile I suspect you will see more than one project get rejected based on ESG in the next few years. Anything close to a glacier or anything using aquifers for water I wouldn't touch. As for Marimaca I think it's the poster boy for a green mining project. It's location is enviable in that regard.

Couple thoughts: The copper is there, not going anywhere, it will be mined at some point. I can't help but think lower prices will decrease investment in copper producing projects in the short term which will really put pressure on supplies/prices when copper starts running a deficit in 2025.  just may take some time.  This article is along the same lines   https ...more
