Minco Base Metals - going private

over 10 yrs ago this was spun out from Minco Gold or Silver...  now it is being taken private for 79 cents a share.

Anyone have the shares?  I dont think they ever traded.

Minco Gold's White Silver Mountain Property was spun-off as Minco Base Metals in 2007 on the basis of 1 Minco Base Metals for every 5 Minco Gold. The untradeable shares have sat in my account ever since. I'm pleased to receive .79 Can$ each for them. Nice dividend if approved.

ah you have a better memory than me :) I closed the Ameritrade account i had them in and the couldnt transfer them, so I ended up with the certificate which course now is lost.... Like you I am pleased to get it monetized at 79 cents as I didnt know if it had value....

well that is interesting...  i have no idea what is left in Minco Base Metals company... it must be worth more than what they are paying out, but of course it is nice get something for it. FYI I called Computershare and they will replace a lost certificate for 3% of it's value min $20.

That's good news about your stock certificates. I wonder how many others have been lost. RwE Growth Partners, INC. was contracted to audit and produce an independent opinion of the value.
