ANSWER: I don't think one can apply a cookie cutter to EVERY such situation, but if one is reasonably sane and prudent, especially in a case like this where the "story" is underappreciated (i.e. dealing with a coglomerate-type deposit), he can potentially make a LOT of money with multiple runs up and down the curve.
Despite all the good news here for Novo, if you want to go to Ace Hardware and buy your rope, that's a choice you can make (not being serious here) - but do take a look at all the facts/potential and make an informed decision.
