Doing it the right way!The news release is always subject to interpretation. We have to first of all look at the purpose of the trials.Toxicity=none.
Now of course we all wanted efficacy and we got it.Maybe not what some was expecting but let's put this in perspective. These people were all to be considered terminal with short lifespans.Onc was only doing intra-tumour injections. I would find it hard to believe that everyone expected all of the patients to be alive and in complete remission with just that.
The cancer in these patients had all metastisized and was spread throughout the body.Onc was dealing with obvious visable tumours and not attacking the cancer systemically and yet their was indications of remote tumour regression. This is very encouraging, especially at this early stage of the game.
Most other therapies as we know involve radiation, assorted drugs which are administered systemically (chemo-etc).
What is most exciting is what lies ahead from what they have learned. Now it's the proper application of this that will make the difference.
There is lots ahead of us.
1)phase 2 patient enrollment for prostate
2)Glio filings in the U.S. and Canada ( this will be one of the most important and pivital trials for onc and the one that they are the most excited about.
3)A full Nasdag listing which means more exposure and now access to the U.S.markets
4)They will pharma with a large company!
5)systemic trials q-2 2002.
These guys don't hype the company because they don't need to. If anything, they actually downplayed the release because of the flood of inquiries they knew that they were going to be inundated with.
If you read my earlier posts, you will remember that I always stated small steps to get where they want and that I didn' really expect much to really happen until q-1 2002. This is right in line with expectations. It will happen, just not as quick as some were hoping. On the upside it will give the daytraders something to work with, but I wouldn't be caught short later on in q-1.
Patience is hard for everyone, myself included.I try to look at the big picture and what onc is really trying to accomplish.
Terminal people from the trials are still alive! How many other phase 1 studies have been done with terminal patients still alive as a result?
