RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:EV Superbowl Ads I am not sure who we have a business advantage of not going through the Panama Canal over but I hope you're not suggesting it it the USA or Mexico or any of the OPEC + countries that supply LNG
100%. BC has a liquifaction benefit due to climate versus every country that isn't Russia. It has a resource advantage in the Montney as it is the lowest cost basin. It is a shorter journey to the Asian JKM market (the only one that matters) versus the US, Australia, Qatar. It is also the most environmentally friendly as there is plentiful Hydroelectricity to use for liquifaction instead of burning NG.
And yeah that is totally the right approach. I have a Chevy Volt, and have orders for an Ioniq 5 and F150. We should be transitioning to EVs, I am not against that. We should be doing what Norway is doing, with it's as long as it's worth something we will be selling it, while not using it ourselves. That rant was mainly about Canada hurting it's own economy when the world still needs the product.
The low production of oil and gas is the very reason we enjoy high prices and high O&G stock prices right now and it is not because it is managed, in any way, by Alberta.
I am originally from Ontario. And no the high O&G prices are not due to AB. They should be much lower, if a supply response wasn't constrained. The high prices are because of 5 years of under investment and the world saying we don't need it constantly. Cancellation of all long lead projects. Pressure on banks to reduce investment. Pressure on infrastructure leading to friction in transport. Lack of egress. Relying on OPEC to always have spare capacity. Spoiler they don't and US is looking at a tank bottom scenario this year.
