EV Superbowl Ads

Watching all these Superbowl Ads, sure seems like EV adoption is going to increase quickly.

I know Yasch has written on the subject before and has detailed information/estimates. Thought, I'd share the following: https://evadoption.com/ev-sales/ev-sales-forecasts/

I'm a long term holder of peyto and plan to ride this cycle. Seems like it'll be the last. Thoughts?

Peyto as you must know if you are long term is investor :) is a natgas company nat gas will be required for decades as will oil....oil not to the same degree but natgas will be needed to generate power to charge all those EV's and cool and heat our buildings. Not worried about natgas! I don't own peyto but have thought about it given the divi.

Talking about electricity. What is truly shocking  is the way in which government and corporations are complicit in hood-winking the public on their value as a way to combat global warming. Any contribution they make will be marginal at best once an overall analyses is made !!

It will be NEGATIVE.  Anything the government does takes billions and billions of waste to get their polluted ideas out and push onto people.  Add all that cost in. It all takes their eyes off the ball of running the country in a smooth fashion dealing with the nuts and bolts that are required every minute, day, month and year. Water, streets, lights, highways, sewers and proper ...more

Line 5 has nothing to do with the west. It's Trudeau knowing that Ontario and Quebec cannot survive an energy crisis like Europe.  Line 5 impacts the west zero,it's classic Eastern Canada hypocrisy. Block TMX, Block Coastal Gateway, Protest Line 9... but when your lifeline is threatened, throw the book at it.    Trudeau had to buy TMX because of his own mess up, not ...more

Ontario and Quebec would be just fine without Line 5 as they have alternative sources to compensate for the energy that that line supplies. Regardless of what Enbridge espouses to encourage support of and discourage closure of Line 5 would be an inconvenience at most and economically more costly to Western Canada than the increased cost of importing and ramping up energy alternatives in Eastern ...more

I am not sure who we have a business advantage of not going through the Panama Canal over but I hope you're not suggesting it it the USA or Mexico or any of the OPEC + countries that supply LNG   100%. BC has a liquifaction benefit due to climate versus every country that isn't Russia. It has a resource advantage in the Montney as it is the lowest cost basin. It is a shorter ...more

1. Line 5 does not and has not ever transported heavy oil. It is transports products, propane and NGLs. Those are not bottlenecked in Alberta. It is Michigan and Ontario that would be denied the products of the Superior, WI refinery. There are other ways for Ontario and Michigan to get these products, but bringing it in by tanker or truck just makes it hipocritical to shut down LNG in Quebec or ...more

We always have good discussion. No you didn't mention heavy oil, but it was implied by bringing up the Egress comment. The egress issue is getting to Superior. Light oil out of Saskatchewan or upgraded oil never saw the huge discounts that heavy oil did as they travel on different pipes. This pipeline is firmly an issue for energy security for Ontario/Michigan and its industry. It's vital. ...more
