RE:RE:RE:Be there or be squareFor those who would want to replace the massive quantities of Coal being burnt around the globe and particularly in Asia, there are many alternative solutions. There is no one size fits all solution. There are significant issues revolving around transportation , land availability due to population density , cost, reliability and so forth.
Ammonia is one possible solution, that may have certain drawbacks and yet coud be very efficiently used for transportation storage and reliability in power generation plants. It could also be of particular interest to Western Canada where our government has seen fit to do their utmost to dissuade LNG .
Hydrogen in its molecular form is not amenable to transportation or storage in large volumes.
I am certainly not an expert on Ammonia as a fuel nor on the develoment work around it. I do however know one very busy person who is.
I will try to keep you posted as and if I learn more. The possibilities seem too important to be dismissed off hand !!
