BCONTVentures wrote: You're welcome Holdrrrr.  @cusam from ceo has some great points regarding Rio Tinto/IOC and the plasma torches (burners - Rio/IOC refers to them as burners):

@cusam IOC has four induration machines with 20 burners and two machines with 26 burners. Notice that this equals 132 burners total. In this NR (https://ir.pyrogenesis.com/news-releases/news-release-details/pyrogenesis-announces-6-million-torch-order-another-major-iron) it mentions that the client expects next orders to be for 130 torches. In one of the induration machines, they have replaced 4 of the burners with plasma torches and the remaining 16 are Bunker C fired. The plasma torches are located in Zone 1 with two on each side.

@cusam After commissioning, they will be doing a trial to see the results under different conditions and with different pellet products. If they go the plasma route, it will depend on the results as well as availability of power as said plasma draws a “tremendous” amount of power.

But he mentioned they are expecting a successful pilot and it is very exciting to be able to control the temperature in Zone 1 to the degree from the HMI. They are also expecting better airflow in the machine due to less gases present which is a positive and better pellet compression overall. (This is from June 2023).

@cusam Interesting to see also they present challenges with the other two methods but none for plasma...not saying there aren't any challenges but it may indicate that's the route they are likely going with

@ordos @cusam Interestingly that even for the non-plasma approach, where storage and transport of hydrogen is a challenge, HPQ Silicon can help out :-). Install the hydrogen generator right where it needs to be, no transport and no storage needed.

I was reading some of @cusam's posts on ceo the other night, he does great DD.  Very informative, and seems quite knowledgeable on the subject :)
