Rio Tinto

How many old torches does Rio Tinto currently run?

And how much does a pyr torch that Rio is testing cost?  I'd just like to know when the torches are approved, what a deal like this would potentially be worth?

I understand pyr would do the majority of servicing, any repairs need on them etc, for the forseeable future.  I was just wondering what the main purchase contract would approximately  be worth

Thanks :)

You are promoting a stock 24/7 and then proclaim ignorance to something you are promoting. Just a tad embarrassing for you, entertaining for the rest. Carry on!

Just wondering , did  you know how many torches Rio would need in all their plants and wht is their cost and cost of maintenance. . Since you constantly post negatives , we didn''t see you posting any kind of no's as no's regarding this  subject  would be positives and  G - D  forbid you would post anything positive about  this co.

Plasma torches for iron ore pelletizing cost approximately $2 million a torch. Yearly recurring revenue in the form of maintenance and replacement parts is approximately $275,000 per torch. Note that these torches have an approximate useful life of 20 to 25 years. Client B (Rio Tinto/IOC) has previously requested an estimate for 130 torches (for Rio/IOC's operations at Labrador). So, for 130 ...more

You're welcome Holdrrrr.  @cusam from ceo has some great points regarding Rio Tinto/IOC and the plasma torches (burners - Rio/IOC refers to them as burners): @cusam IOC has four induration machines with 20 burners and two machines with 26 burners. Notice that this equals 132 burners total. In this NR (https://ir.pyrogenesis.com/news-releases/news-release-details/pyrogenesis ...more

I was reading some of @cusam's posts on ceo the other night, he does great DD.  Very informative, and seems quite knowledgeable on the subject :)

Not sure if this 10% of original cost to be endure for maintenance every year is a good strategy as a selling point. Can you imagine buying a truck, boat, tractor or whatever, for $100,000 and be told you’ll have $10,000 in maintenance and parts every year. It may sound great from an investor’s point of view but for the end user?  Maybe it is what it is, but for that reason, it may be to ...more

That is up to any client to decide.  They will figure out the life-cycle costs, benefits, apply their rate of required return and if it makes sense, they will do it and if not, they won't. I would like BCONTventures to show how he "guesses" the NPV would be easily one billion dollars.  Let's just say I think it is between not knowing how to figure it out or ...more

It's also incredible, these torches are only one of PYR's business lines.   Hard to believe, Rio just switching the labrador site over will be a billion dollar order to pyr, plus the recurring maintanence costs.  If after that they continue switching their sites in other countries to pyr torches, this company could be worth several billion dollars, in the medium term.  ...more

To me it seems many investors misjudged the time it would take to get here.  And it's not for any reason, more than the "longevity testing" of these torches and systems.  I think many people were short sighted, and thought it would be a few weeks to test.  But these indusry giants run these furnaces, and equipment 24/7 and near 365 days a year.  They can't ...more

To me it seems many investors misjudged the time it would take to get here. So I can completely understand delays, and how some uninformed investors expected a rushed timeline, that simply cant happen, if you look at all the factors here. Pyro misjudged or misinformed shareholders and the market?

@Namazon Finally some definitive proof that we would have killed for a couple of years ago… these 2 names on the same page. Plus, it’s amazing to see all the work, at clearly some large expense, that has been put into making this “trial” happen. Makes me wonder what kind of company would go to these lengths… to only “try” this technology. ~3 to 6 more months… Meh! Gives you an idea the ...more

Great post/comment: Honestly feel that Rio is doing a DEEP test - here - did you see size of those electrical rooms. BIG plasma torches - LONG study on efficiency of process and maintenance and parts required - you don't spend that amount of capital, time, and manpower on testing something like that unless you are considering a MASSIVE investment in the technology - OK - yes, we have likely ...more

BCONTV, you know that these are pilot plants, parts of many avenues that are being tested and most likely paid by government grants and subsidies. Why are you so convince or try to convince other that PYR torches are the only solution.

Great time to add. Just a tad of patience and riches will be ours. The jackals will be silenced by the scope of the contracts to come.

The iron ore pelletizing market/industry is huge and with PyroGenesis having 4 torches with Rio Tinto/IOC (Client B) is huge.  Corporations like Rio Tinto plan years ahead. The user KaizerSoze has some great posts regarding the industry and Rio Tinto (RT).  He works at Rio Tinto in Kitimat, BC.  This post is worth re-reading: https://stockhouse.com/companies/bullboard/t.pyr ...more

Thanks for posting this BCONTVentures. Sad that some here are not made of the stuff to be good long term investors. Investing is all about ups and downs and not always about immediate gratification, The patient investor will be rewarded.

Great comment from ceo:  @ordos As usual those looking from outside think that they know better how the company should be run, having minimal knowledge about all the work behind the scenes. The recently posted Rio presentation demonstrated just how much is involved just to test the torches. A lot of supporting equipment, such as torch handling rails, power supplies, cooling systems ...more

Does Pyrogenesis meet the stringent quality and ethical guidelines as a Rio Tinto / IOC supplier? Or other major client - supplier guidelines? This was discussed at ceo dot ca PYR forum and screen captures from Rio Tinto website were provided.

How's your amf achievement, err, um I mean amf project coming along? Any news? And yes, if they are still testing the product, they very obviously meet the guidelines. I guess you forgot "alleged"?  Like your buddy Walter100 at stocktwits?
