Time to average down Why ?

This is, without a doubt, an opportunity to invest in a firm with a fantastic future ahead of it. However IMHO the market is running a little too fast.
from the April NR :

"it has successfully completed the first phase (the First Phase) of a multi-phase modeling contract aimed at evaluating the performance of PyroGenesis’ proprietary torches in an existing iron ore industrial furnace with the goal of replacing all existing fossil fuel burners with PyroGenesis’ plasma torches."

A modeling contract is not a physical, on-site operational demonstration of this new application of a high power plasma torch. The NR also states:

"This all important First Phase demonstrated that replacing fossil fuel burners with PyroGenesis’ proprietary plasma torch (i) has absolutely no ancillary detrimental effects anywhere in the process or with the furnaces, (ii) results in significant greenhouse gas reduction while at the same time, (iii) projecting significant cost savings."

The next phase/objective will be to prove the above on-site under real operating conditions. Engineers have been known to make mistakes and misculations due to bad assumptions and "unkowns".  The life of a torch under operating conditions could vary from the assumptions. It may be necessary to revise the materials used to build the torch and maximise it's life. These things are details, yes, but essential.

Building a proof of concept torch(s) will be the simple part as will be bolting it ( them) in place. Do not ignore the supply of electricity and all that that implies: is  it available?, how far away?, switchgear, transformers, wiring to say the least. Wiring will be easy, not so for transfos and switchgear. That stuff can require many months to build and deliver after the project manager has accepted the design. Big stuff is made to measure and not on the shelf waiting for an order. It could very well be on the critical path to operation.

I am taking the time to average down as I am sure there will be more opportunities to watch the markets emotional response to future NRs

There will be many more phases before the need to demonstrate this tech is done with.

The market is known for over reacting. Fiture clients will not be making investment commitments on emotion. The clients will be putting their personal careers on the line when selling the job to owners. They will be conservative.
They will be replacing something that works with something that has no track record in their business. That could be personally dangerous.

Did you miss the part when Peter stated a first order is expected by the end of august ? Market seems to have noticed... Next swing will be multiple dollard increase and a new bunch of millionnaires ( those old long who stayed invested even with hundreds of K$ in profit) News are coming sooner than later Let the ball roll

I just can't figure out why you are here wasting your amazing insight ! I mean it's obvious that you know better sitting from the sidelines than the CEO and the multi billion $ companies. What a waste of talent. Nice attempt on the scare tactics though.  Seriously you think all this stuff is not sorted out ? You really think all the points you have made hasn't been considered by ...more

Pyrogenesis’ plasma torches for induration in iron pelletization plants are not a ‘proof of concept’ torch nor are they ‘untested’. They have a patent for these high-power torches and have thoroughly developed in-house their torches for use in replacing industrial burners, with support from the Canadian National Research Council. They’ve also physically tested the torches, both in-house, and also ...more

Wow awesome MazerRR...I was about to respond to that post but now running late in my next meetings so....much appreciated!   Guys do yourself a huge favor and read MazerRR post history. He is extremely thorough and has a firm technical understanding of PyroGenesis tech...much more than most on this forum.   He is absolutely right in every aspect of his post.   Yes  Peter did ...more

Bumping this up....Keep the faith LONGS...the story has not changed and remains on course as Pete stated numerous times very recently!

Excellent post MazerRR, thanks for all your work, research, and due diligence.  This is worth reading (and re-reading) as there is a lot of information to glean in this post. Buying a share of PyroGenesis is like buying into a mini-fund.  With PyroGenesis, you are buying into a company with multiple business lines/divisions, all being executed upon.  Excting times!  Great work ...more

Excellent post, bumping back up!

This. Also on the line are the jobs / lives of hundreds or thousands of employees, sometimes even a nation's GDP. As we know things don't always work out the way they were planned. When it comes to (new) technology I know this from 20-year professional career of 1st hand experience. Rushing into replacing 500 burners in 10 plants sounds like a reckless move. Would be surprised to see that ...more

Error in your analysis because the world must change because the climate is changing too fast and your calculation is misleading because the cost does not take into account the urgency of the planet and the available subsidies granted to make the urgent change !!!!
Comment by kingscorpion on Aug 20, 2020 9:30am
And all the green companies you came to PYR to give us your no-expert opinion. Climate change is real and they have been discussing this for over 2 months I hardly think companies are being pressured in these contracts but they are being pressured by governments all around

Opps, posted before with nothing there. Anyhow, I guess we all have our opinion, this is totally new technology jump. So many moving parts to the contract and for something totally new. Yes, still potential for things to move more slowly than light speed. I guess I am willing to wait an extra 6 months for a move to $20 SP. However, I do think things will move very quickly given the pot for funding ...more

Let's not forget people that while PYR will get cotracts with their current plasma torches they are already investing in their next generation of plasma torches which is very important to note.
Comment by butastita on Aug 20, 2020 10:45am
Fair enough, that's agreeable. Let's just not forget that there are competing technologies hoping to grab some of that climate funding. There are other methods to reduce GHG emissions, not just the PYR one. As you may know LKAB are replacing fossil fuel with bio-oil while also researching plasma and hydrogen. Companies that have been supplying the iron/steel industry with technology for ...more

If you are going to talk about competing technologies and you are here on this board suggests you already find this tech superior to rest otherwise you would have been else where We ve already dissected that perhaps a month or so ago and think that PYR s technology is superior in many ways

Good Morning All,  It was an easy Ignore for me. Bye bye butastita.    3 reasons  1) a new poster here  2) too informative of other tech rather than PYR. Yet states he is a PYR Long  3 ) he has been with PYR far too long without appearing here til now, that raised my eyebrows. Eg. He said he's been with PYR for 10 years. Interesting since PYR went ...more

..well said topseeker, you caught that phoney new poster lying his a$$ off , again !.....I bought PyroGenesis in the fall of 2011 @ $0.17 because of the waste destruction system on the US Aircraft carriers & the landfill waste destruction systems, and a lot of potential. Today we have a totally new set of technology's coming to market that have taken PyroGenesis from a few million in ...more

You forgot a couple spin offs and some splits in there as well. I'd love to see my shares multiply as well as skyrocket. Retirement by my 40th bday would be a dream come true.  [/quote]
Comment by butastita on Aug 20, 2020 12:51pm
Wow, faultless reasoning there :D Anyhow I brought this spring and if in 10 years it hits $100 it will enable my early retirement. I find the unhealthy amount of paranoia here quite amusing. Mr.D being the lynchmob's ringleader with Mr.U and a few otjers not far behind! Keep it coming fellas :)
Comment by kingscorpion on Aug 20, 2020 11:04am
It is up to companies who need to replace their burners and NOT UP TO COMPANIES WHO SUPPLY THEM. DOING THE MODELLING FOR COMPANIES IS SURE WAY TO CALM THE NERVES OF COMPANIES WHILE NEGOTUATIONS CONTINUE IN FACT PYR insisted on doing the modeling for company C who actually wanted to forego the modeling phases So it just shows PYR is going slowly yet surely and I am ok with that
