Question for the veterans and long only?

I invested 90% of my portfolio to PYR and 10% to HPQ. I sold my other stock so I can invest everything to PYR. From what I read and saw from Investors video that you should be investing only 2% of your portfolio to avoid risk and should diversify.

Am I doing the right thing? FYI, I did my DD so I'm confident enough to invest everything

I even convinced my 2 children to invest their own money in their own investor account. Now convinving my sister to invest.

Long and stong PYR!

I personally am overweight in PYR, but that fits okay with my risk profile. You should not be asking investment advice from discussion board members. You never know what their motives are and they do not know all of your financial background. Investment decisions should be tailored to your personal situation, taking into account age, savings, debt profile, employment situation and reliability, and ...more

The way you stated, you only have 2 shares in your portfolio which is really bold and daring. But, to each his own... Both my daughters in law also have asked me to invest for them recently which I did and have guarranteed them that their original investment won't lose a single cent.  Modesty aside, my average price is way, way below that even if it goes down to $2.00, which ...more

Pinoy97, I hope you also have a cash reserve that you don't use for investments? If not, let me answer like this, going all in works everytime, until it doesn't. No matter how good things look, they can go to hell from out of the blue in no time. I know a guy who was a millionaire, succeeded with every stock he touched, he then made one or two bad investment decisions and ended up ...more

Pinoy, read Oilminerdeluxe's post well...think about it. I'm in PYR big, very postive on company, but would never invest 100% in PYR or any other single stock...and I consider myself a risktaker. When the sp goes to $ 10, I will not think ' oh, i should have bought more ', ditto when it hits $ 20. Whether you buy PYR or the Bank of Montreal, there is risk...no one knows what's ...more

Tannin I would agree with you if I was investing in companies that I am not so sure of yet may see the potential of the company down the road so for companies like that I would invest 2% to 5% However PYR is not like any company Currently PYR is in a sweet spot when all companies are being forced to convert to greener technologies. The CEO has so far delivered on all fronts therefore there's ...more

I agree with you Gottofly but the most important part of any investment is the information given about the company. Especially when investing in small cap companies on the venture since the majority of them have no fundamentals to assess. The whole idea of 2% of your portfolio on any given investment is to reduce risk on investments that have a 50/50 chance of going either way because there's ...more

Well said 96klite.  Do your DD and do what your comfortable with. I make my own decisions whether good or bad and live with it....that way no regrets.   Pyrogenesis is a mufti facet multi dimensional multi division company with tech and products that industry not only wants but totally needs.   They have indeed been vetted by multi billion dollar conglomerates and govt entities ...more
