It's unlikely the judge will grant the motion for a new trial unless Quarterhill did not adhere to the revised formula to calculate damages or there was a trial witness or procedure which Apple has legal merit to dispute. The most likely scenario is that the judge's final judgement will confirm the jury award and grant Quarterhill's motion for interest. Apple will then need to appeal to a higher court.
