A Coser Look

Way back (ten year chart) when patents were king and the likes of Google and Microsoft were paying "Tens of Billions" for it, the valuations were calculated accordingly with IP "demand"!
I guess Apple among others find a way to convince Obama to "create a better" patent system and just like that patents and IP in general lost MOST OF ITS value! Since WIN's business model was IP its share price and the WHOLE sectors demise followed!
Please correct me if I am wrong but with my limited business backround I understand that ANY busines and its Board will have a very difficult time changin a long term business model when their model is IP! MGMT did try to consolidate ie. IRD & VISIA. New CEO and cost cutting followed. Most can't see past the SP.

Sentiment and future prospects are 50% of SP! Back when IP was king WIN was trading at 5-9 bucks = big game hunting! That same Company would not be worth a buck today! Nobody complained about MGMT bonuses and poor Board decisions back than! Institutions were lining up doing bought deals @ $5! Sorry folks but this is just how it works with most retail investors! They are only happy when the SP is going up.
To prove my point ,all I am going to say is OIL and OIL STOKS! Yes all the oil companies have bad MGMT and terrible Boards! lol

Compensation is another big topic here with joe investor! Please pick a stock any similar or bigger size etc. what you will find, that is how they all pay bonuses ie.compensation to employees who are listed! Again nothing out of the norm! People working at QTRH are some of the smartest IP and LAW people in their field! You siply can't pay them $60k/year!

Untill you have run a business yourself and made ENOUGH to support your family you will never get it!

Which company would you buy today WIN @ $5 or QTRH @ $2

that is my rant hope it makes sense

The fact that nobody complained about bonuses and compensation when the company was doing well and sp rising is understandable.  That's what pay for performance is all about.  But in the past 8 years, there has been no performance, yet the compensation continues as if there were.  That's what the complaint is all about.  Management is being told sheet or get off the pot ...more

This weak management and board told us in2017 they were changing their business plan from a patent licensing company to an investment holding company focusing on the internet of things.  What have they done to advance this new business plan?  Blaming the poor performance on patent law changes is a cop out.  They were supposed to diversify away from that and have not.  Thus they ...more

ufoolme, sounds like you did not optimally listen in 2017. QTRH said it was diversifying by adding IIoT assets to the IP licensing business.  There was no comment on exiting.  Just the opposite, Wilan was viewed as a funding source for acquisitions. Since teh 2017 announcement, there were 3 acquisiitons and it appears that all are working/worked out well, despite some early criticism ...more

Thanks ufoolme.  In fact teh news release confirms my recollection.  The opening paragraph states, "...transform its business into a growth-oriented diversified holding company by acquiring businesses that will operate alongside the Company’s intellectual property licensing business..." "...we have concluded that patent licensing as a stand-alone business will not meet ...more
