Instatuitions will need to get in..........

Before the next major move up. There are a handful of top brokers who have built substantial positions through their retail clients. Between 30- 40 million shares. IMHO............They will needto get in under $2.00 . There will be several days where volume should spike to 5million shares per day. They will try to accumulated a combined 20% Of the outstanding shares. This should happen before actual profit ramp.......... Perception is everything........ Let's hope mgmt has all their Ducks lined up.

You are correct homework if you are referring to traditional institutional investors.  Remember that the investor marketing strategy started under Paul Hill was to court high net worth individuals who do not have to report holdings.  I believe this approach may still be in place.  In that case, institutional-like holdings would be higher that reporting.  My understanding is ...more

The only problem is the low share price! Institutions can not invest under what 3$ or 5$? SO a revaluation would be nice!
Comment by cabbieJBJ on Jul 31, 2023 11:44am
You make a valid point Socrates.  The low share price can be an obstacle.  Obviously getting the share price up would address the issue for those at a lower investment threshold.  But the risk to acquiring a larger institutional base is that a much of the share price appreciation might be used up by the time the price reaches $5.  An alternative could be a reverse stcok split. ...more

Not sure if a reverse split would be a good idea! Too early in companies destructuring and CEO search and risks are still there so a mis step and the gains would be toast? We as in QTRH must be discipline and good things will come......

A reverse split is not the answer or needed. Many instatuitions can buy shares below$ 3.00 .Only pension funds and some instatuitions have price restrictions..... Most fund companies, hedge funds, etc can do whatever they want.........

Note sure on a reverse split? I like you guys and we're on the same side but WADR you live in some sort of fairy-tale land about the need to court this or that type of investor. Look at Rekor. Not long ago it was at 60 cents. Now what? $3 roughly? And that's with only some projected revenue growth. Perish the thought they would ever actually make any money. Markets, with or without these ...more

Can you explain what and from where this coming from? Personal intuition not excepted... we all have one....... Markets, with or without these alleged need-a-$3-price institutions.
Comment by mrmoribund on Aug 03, 2023 10:43am
I suppose it is personal intuition. Eons ago there was a commonly held view, probably, at that time, more or less correct. There was the retail world of more or less ignorant little peons. And there was the respectable world of wise, prudent, and thoughtful institutional investors. Many institutional investors want, of course, to keep that narrative alive today. It's good for business. And ...more

mrmoribund, aren't both povs valid? It's important to understand the relationship between share price appreciation, valuation, and a company’s growth.  The share price is a function of revenue and earnings growth (your perspective, with correct emphasis on earnings) and mutiple expansion. Put simply, QTRH’s share price is driven by earnings/revenue growth and changes in the ...more

Sure. I'm not suggesting that management should not even bother talking to any investors. And I've even cited Rekor's little "news" stories they put out as a factor in their share price strength. But there's a history of people on this board expressing the view that better institutional investor outreach is somehow the key missing ingredient. And my sense is that this ...more

Let me add one point to my most recent post. I don't want to create the impression that, by results, I mean the numbers at the top and bottom of the income statement and nothing else. There is something called quality of earnings such that one set of 10 cent EPS results can be better than 15 cents EPS at some other company. There are also things like employee satisfaction and employee ...more

First paste was off, this is what I ment to ask you. Thanks. institutions, are already catching the scent of a Quarterhill on its way to profitability. Without reporting nothing can be assumed....

Spectacularily consistent binary choice position mrmoribund.  Quality or quantity...maybe QTRH can have both. What's your expectation for Q2 mrmoribund?  Feels like management, probably at RW's urging, is migrating to an under-promise/over-deliver stance.
