EV's future of reality

“not feasible” for power grid: study

Need more evidence that politicians are clueless? Please read the whole article and get the REALITY of how power grids work and are loaded and the lack of it in CANADA........ FYI to charge a TESLA you could power a functioning household! That is why you need a seperate charging station and not just a 120v plug.........

So how is that for banning gas powered cars by what 2035?  LOL

The analysis, titled Failure to Charge: A Critical Look at Canada’s EV Policy, takes an in-depth look at the federal mandate, which would force the national power grid to produce 15.3% more electricity than it currently does within the next 11 years.

“Canadians need to know just how much additional electricity is going to be required in order to meet Ottawa’s electric vehicle mandate, because its impact on the provinces — and taxpayers and ratepayers — will be significant,” said G. Cornelis van Kooten, the study’s author and a Fraser Institute senior fellow.

In line with the European Union’s mandate to ban the sale of all gas-powered vehicles with EV by 2035, Trudeau plans to do the same in Canada.

As announced in December by Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault, the Electric Vehicle Availability Standard will mandate that all new cars and trucks be electric by 2035.

There can  be no doubt the World needs to reduce fossil fuel use but the approach by Trudeau and Gulibeault on Carbon pricing and Carbon tax to achieve this is poorly conceived and managed. First, there is no National strategy and most of the Billions being collected each year are not used to fund either change-over programs or initiatives to hasten reduction. Instead much of the money is ...more

Good comments, thanks for your input......... A little secret thou.........Fossil fuel is ONLY the name given in the early1900's by the pressure of Rockefeller who had a monopoly on oil and by classifying it as "fussil fuel" he could than claim the scarsity card to manipulate oil prices! The are doing that to this day....... The truth is Crude oil, the same stuff that bubbles out ...more

Socrates, I've seen this fossil fuel is a renewable resource agrument before and it is a stretch to gain traction...except for really, really, really, really, really, really, really, old folks! I think you might find this map interesting.  EVs might have a shorter range use, such as in-city.  Shutter in place...Guilbeault thinks no new roads are needed. ...more

Don't you think that it is really the wrong thing to say that only the old should believe the truth? You mean the younger generations are too stupid to understand that we been lied to? Shouldn't a lie be exposed and thought to the newer generations to better humanity and get rid of the fear mongerering controlers and politicans?  Going bacwards with our etics and education will not ...more

Not wrong Socrates, but certainly tangential in a personal day to day living.  Society needs near term, longer term and almost off the horizon term perspectives to properly function.  Near term obsessions without considering other aspects, as with negative aspects of climate change, is somewhat akin to Nero fiddling while Rome burned. Back to QTRH.

This, from Axios, just dropped in my inbox: Major oil and gas companies are failing to align their business plans with Paris Agreement's goals, a new report finds.  The report is from the financial climate think tank Carbon Tracker. Hair on fire.  The children won't behave.  I ask...did the oil companies sign the Paris Agreement?  Saudi Aramco's ...more

Again Socrates you are right that the climate agenda pushed by the elites is a total scam to enrich themselves at the expense of taxpayers.......... What is not a scam is that we all need clean air and water . At the moment many large populations of the world do not have that.  Even in North America our water supply is contaminated. If your drinking unfiltered tap water you are slowly ...more

Yes as I said before oil be around still for a long time, however the use cases will be different from today.  Shell just announced the closure of 1000 stations to focus on EV charging .....

How many of you know that ALL wind turbines need gas or diesel backup for when there is no wind they need to be heated and need power to lubricate etc.! what a scam
Comment by mjh9413 on Mar 22, 2024 3:48pm
O the secondary use of fossil fuels as back, also think about restaurants not wanting hydro for cooking, gas is more 'efficient', and homes and businesses having hydro outage backups using propane generators, propane being a bigger pollutant than natgas. Also 25% yes that's 25% of a barrel of oil is not used for fuel production, but other chemicals for nylons, cosmetics, asphalt...what ...more
