Holy cow.  This is huge isn't it Cabbie?  They were looking for $242 million plus interest!  Even something closer to the middle should trigger most (if not all) of the contracted  $23 million earn out payments to Wilan.  Might even cause them to buyout Quarterhill's share for up to $16 million on top of that! chi

I've learned to not get over excited about patent litigation Chi, but this shoudl be positive for QTRH.  However, there are only 2 facts that can be confirmed at this point: A jury has awarded Wilan US $242M from Microsoft for infringment Microsoft will not continue with appeals when this agreement is finalized In addition, Wilan has asked for pre and post interest, which at

Good point about not getting overly excited about settlements especially after the Apple fiasco.  Still, I bought another 20,000 shares today with hopes they get a nice payment (along with the ETC business improving of course) chi

It's also helpful to put any settlement in perspective. First, it's a one time thing so don't start multiplying X anything and second, there are 115 million shares outstanding, plus the convert, warrants, options , or whatever other goodies they have so don't be surprised if the net,net, number is something of the order of magnitude of $1.00 per share. Where are you going on this post maxmoe?  There is C$38M still on the table from the Wilan sale.  Wilan's success will dictate whether that amount will ever be realized by QTRH and when.  If all is collected, it's C $0.35/share, over time in all likelihood.  Funds available for QTRH growth...nothing more.  Chill, plz.

The news release that announced the sale of WiLAN to Owlpoint IP Opportunities JVF LP, stated that no current or prior Quarterhill insiders are investors in WiLAN. Monte, most all the  staff at Wilan went to Owlpoint with the sale. They would know the actions inside out.  The action on Siri IP v. Google will likely now pick up. The campaign on connected devices (v. Dell, HP and Lenovo) is picking up, although early. I'm of the opinion that QTRH will see the $38M still on the table over the next 2 years, with a first check expected in Q3.

I was thinking insiders more like senior management as former directors and CEO's,  However, that's all in the past now and too much work to look into.  I look forward to the settlements of ongoing cases with the 10% distributions from Owlpoint  to Quarterhill as contribution to each quarter.  We do need a positive press release soon as shre price

It's okay Staydotcalm.  I searched on Google and it was the first citation. Bing didn't show it at all.  Go figure...Probably just an oversight on Microsoft's part. I beleive that Google will be next in the campaign.

Should, could but did not make 2 bucks....... just imagine why were we at 3 before with absolutely NOTHING happenning as a co???..... lol But now we could easily be past $2.5 so no matter the insiders loadingvup or BNN plugging it we just stay here.........not normal what is going on with sp that I can tell you!!
