Two Questions:   1) From what source are you getting your info on this sub 3.00% interest rate figure...?   2) When will either the BOC Rate or the FED Funds Rate drop all the way to 3% and further...?   I say not for a looooong time.     October 25: BOC Rate unchanged at 5.00%   BOC keeps door open for more hikes   BOC Governor Tiff ...more

Guggenheim.  I just saw the headline and didn't read their rationale for the call.  My opinion says this will happen when one of two things happens....the stock market crashes, unemployment data shows actual job losses.  There is no way the world can continue with over 300 TRILLION in debt and rates around 5%.  Debt service in the US is soon to exceed the entire defense ...more

Guggenheim Investments thinks investors should look past the carnage in bonds and gear up for the Federal Reserve to pivot to rate cuts. While the investment team expects the Fed to leave its policy rate unchanged at a 22-year high of 5.25% to 5.5% over the next several meetings, they also see a recession as likely in the first half of 2024.
