SILVER WHEATON CORP. T.SLW

"Silver Wheaton is a pure, unhedged paper proxy on silver prices with a unique business model. The company purchases silver for sale through long-term purchase contracts from counterparties. Currently, the company has long-term silver purchase contracts with more than a dozen mines. Silver Wheaton purchased and sold roughly 28 million silver-equivalent ounces in 2012 through its purchase sales contracts."

Update from Smallwood on the CRA

Update from Smallwood on the CRATotally agree, mat. It isn't necessary to try to put a monetary value on the effect of the tax issue, assuming that was even possible. It's easy enough to see that the uncertainty it has created has put an unjustified drag on the sp.

I expect that as institutional investors start to come back into the silver space, they will tend to put less weight on this factor, once they examine the legal situation more closely than most retail investors are willing (or able) to make the effort to do.

In any case, Randy Smallwood seems to welcome the opportunity to address the issue (as well as SLW's other plans going forward) in this short interview with Sprott that came out just this morning.
