You're doing it wrong.

I agree. Not sure I understand this stock though. If prices for propane climb too high, it could create demand destruction which would hurt distibution or at least I think that is what could happen? Thoughts?

This is more about the distribution network than the commodity.

Meaning what exactly? I just want to know how this company works. Where do they get the propane from, for instance? Do they buy it and then charge accordingly if prices rise? Do they make money buying and selling the propane as well as on the distrubution side?

I can't explain it without revealing my sources.

Whatever? You can;t speak on how the company functions?? WTF

Look at the Company's Investor presentations on the website...it explains a lot of the questions you have...they are a distributor and do not take price risk...major risk is volume that is affected by warm weather and economic shut downs. GLTA

You do your research on a Stockhouse bullboard? WTF?
Comment by theman0 on Mar 08, 2022 11:06am
@Freezer No, I came here because the company website is somewhat vague on their business model. I was hoping maybe someone with a little better knowledge could explain it. Apparently that is not you.

Why do you come here? just to be a d*ck?
Comment by Freezerburn on Mar 09, 2022 5:39pm
Isn't this where all the d*cks hang out?

Propane is the only real portable gas (not to be confused with gasoline) fuel, and while burners can be relatively easily converted to natural gas, costs are high to get new NG pipeline in place. Much more expensive would be a transition to liquid fuels, and in many cases this would not practically be possible. Price elasticity will be high. SPB is in a bit of a rut, Kamps is taking a long time ...more

I have been in and out of this stock since 2011 and yes there have been times when the cost of propane affected earnings. Luc said it himself on a CC during a particularly bad quarter.
