RE:Hey thanks for your question.It seems that these days, noone can really get legislation passed in the US due to gridlock in congress/senate. Therefore, they basically just kick the can down the road.

Only way things get done in washington, it seems is via executive order from the presidency. Basically that was the case with both of Bidens predecessors, Obama and Trump. The main problem with that is, it lacks the permanence of legislation and will probably get rescinded by the next guy in power (like what Trump did with many of Obama's executive orders, once in office, and what Biden also did to a lot of Trumps executive orders)

That being said, it would be a mistake not to acknowledge that the office of the president still wields enormous power.
