calling model Y a SUV is a joke, it only has 6.6 inch ground clearance, built on model 3 (passager car) platform

Even amatuer SUV wannabe RAV4 have better ground clearance at 8.1-8.6 inch. A Honda 600R supersport race crotch rocket motorbike has a 11 inch ground clearance.  Calling a car SUV does help it to sell car at a higher MSRP.

Tesla's best selling car in the world, their SUV Model Y is already priced lower than the average ICE vehicle in America.  On top of that, starting January 1st, everyone that buys one in the States gets at least $7,500 off the sticker price.  Many States offer additional subsidies. It is amazing that somewould would post that Tesla's are costly without actually knowing what they are talking about.  What a joke.

Yes, Tesla's depreciated a lot this year because the company dropped the price by about $20k per car.

During the July 2022 earnings call Elon said:

What bugs me the most right now is that our cars are not affordable enough,” said Musk. “We need to fix that. We’re not trying to go bankrupt […] but we’re not trying to be super profitable, either.”

No other CEO ever says anything like that.  So what did Tesla do?  They started reducing the prices for Teslas in January 2023.  And they kept on dropping prices.

In the past, Elon has stated that he believed Tesla shares were over priced.

In both cases, people that didn't heed Elon's warnings "get what you get".  Today, Tesla's competitiors are crying that they can't compete and are pulling back plans to grow.  At the same time they are screwwing their loyal ICE customers right left and center.

If Richard Kruger said "Suncor shares are over priced, or Suncor was charging too much for its products", what would you do?

Elon has been completely transparent and shares his thoughts without concern for what the analysts think.  Blaming Tesla for cars that depriated a lot this year is a pretty poor excuse.

I believe Tesla comes with more standard features than any car in the world.  I follow the car market pretty closely and I have noticed that many "unbiased industry observers" say that Teslas are by far the best value in the world.

Tesla's competition must believe it too.  Jim Farley at Ford has mentioned it.  The Chinese auto makers starting copying Tesla years ago and with a supportive government are now leading the world in EV's.  The Japanese auto makers ignored EV's for ten years and are now paying the price.  The European automakers led by VW are pulling models and slashing jobs.  GM's Mary Barra just keeps lying and collecting her $28 million per year as she drives GM towards another bankruptcy.

Everyone gets to say whatever they want here whether it is true or not.  I'm just trying to keep it real.

The automotive backed media has done a great job of spreading FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt) about Tesla for years.  The truth keeps coming out.  Let's see how this all turns out in the next 3-5-10 years.  If history proves me wrong, I will admit it.  Will the FUDsters here do the same?
