RE:Don't cheerlead about protests going away. Just last monthThese are fair considerations drunk@noon especially considering the events of the past 2 years or longer. PetroTal can make 2-3 Brazil shipments per quarter now and solving the limitations that are restricting the increase to 5-6 Brazil shipments per quarter is seriously worth looking at, I agree. 100% barging combined with on-site police protection does ensure the logistics, but so does taking care of the indigenous. You’ve talked about taking better care of the indigenous with social programs in your past posts (i.e. food banks) and I agree that this could help. Part of the Indigenous demands are better water and healthcare, so in this regard I think you see eye to eye with at least this part of their demands.
In the short run at least, there is a truce and the risk of setting fire to important infrastructure has subsided. I predict in the long run social risk will decrease after these meetings if the government stays stable. Guido Bellido's actions/resignation seems to be the cause of the quick turn around back to protesting and failure of recent agreements. Mirtha Vasquez seems to have received a much better reception than Guido Bellido. Pedro’s government is likely to take action on actually making life better for the indigenous, so it is possible that the Loreto region may have peace for 4.5-ish years until the next presidential election, after these short run disruptions have been calmed by Mirtha Vasquez's signatures/agreements.
