If I understand the situation correctly it appears that real time monitoring will disclose any adverse impacts relativity early. What might help is for the community to be ensured in the integrity of the well monitoring, and to make it a crime as well as civil violation to falsify test results. Isn't there a state department of whatever that could receive and record the data from the wells on a regular basis? And then make that information available in real time to the public?
On a practical basis I find it hard to imagine that the company would risk all their capital to only have the project shut down a few months after start-up. That is inconceivable. Far better to bail early than waste more money on a failure. One thing about this project the critical risk is already recognized.
